Cachet Continues Success With Championship At HITS Ocala Winter Classic
Ocala, FL- February 12, 2006- Over the Hill Farm and trainer Bill Schaub were rewarded with two championships and a reserve during their first two days at the HITS I – Ocala Winter Classic, the first week of five weeks of showing in Ocala, Florida.
In the Green Conformation Hunter division, Cachet continued her winning ways. The mare, owned by Lee Cesery of Jacksonville, Florida, stood for second in the model class. “We’ve put a lot of weight on her and it seems to be helping,” said trainer Schaub. Then, with Hunt Tosh of Ocala, Florida in the saddle, she took three firsts and a third over fences and a first under saddle. One of the firsts came with a move up from second after the conformation judging. These ribbons gave her a total of 47 points and the championship ribbon. Schaub continued, “We’re really thrilled with her. She’s surprising the heck out of us. She just has a heart that wants to win!” A spectator was overheard saying, “Wow, she just goes in there and does her thing. She’s awesome.”
Also in the Green Conformation Hunters, Larkspur gave Cachet a run for the ribbons. The gelding is owned by Ashley Kennedy of Marshall, Virginia and Peakewood Pharm. Larkspur took a third in the model class. Then Hunt Tosh guided him to a first, two seconds, and a third over fences and a fourth under saddle to win the reserve championship.
Change of Heart, ridden by Tosh for owner Ehricka Wallace of Okeechobee, Florida showed in the Schooling Hunter division. With two firsts and two thirds, Change of Heart secured the championship in the division.
Over the Hill Farm had two horses showing in the Pre-Green Hunter division: Secrets, owned by Bill Schaub and Jimmy Torano, and Olivia, owned by Ashley Kennedy and Bill Schaub. Both horses were ridden by Hunt Tosh. In the Low section, Olivia brought home two thirds and a fifth over fences and a second under saddle. In the High section, Secrets made her mark with a third, a fourth, and a seventh over fences and a fourth under saddle.
Showing in the First Year Green Hunter division was Mosaik, owned by Ashley Kennedy. Hunt Tosh guided Mosaik to a third, fifth, and sixth over the obstacles and they hacked to an eighth place ribbon.
Gold Edition, another of Ashley Kennedy’s horses, this one owned with Michele Allison, showed in the Second Year Green Hunter division under the hand of Hunt Tosh. Among Gold Edition’s ribbons were a second over fences and a third under saddle.
Over the Hill Farm riders will continue to compete this week at the HITS I - Ocala Winter Classic show in Ocala, Florida and will compete next week at the HITS II - Ocala Winter Festival.
