HITS Announces Special Circuit Pricing Packages for 2010 Desert Circuit

Release Date: 2009-08-20

Biggest West Coast Prize Money Ever Offered in HITS $300,000 Grand Prix Finale

Thermal, CA - August 20, 2009 - HITS is pleased to announce the new circuit pricing packages available for the 2010 Desert Circuit. The HITS Desert Circuit will have six weeks of competition running from January 26 to March 14, including an off-week February 16-21.

HITS will offer circuit pricing on permanent stalls, tent stalls, RV spaces, paddocks and VIP tables at a discount for the six-week Desert Circuit. Exhibitors planning to show for the entire circuit will enjoy the most significant savings, while a discounted half-circuit rate will also be available for permanent stalls.

The HITS Desert Horse Park in Thermal, California features 4,000 stalls, 1,000 of which are located in 10 spacious permanent barns, all on the show grounds. Permanent stalls will be priced at $2,000 for the six-week circuit and includes the off-week, while half-circuit permanent stalls will be offered at $1,400. The new tent stalls with the much-praised wooden panels that debuted last year will be priced at $1,000 for the six-week circuit.

HITS, Inc. President and CEO Tom Struzzieri stated, “With the return to our traditional six-week schedule, we were able to create some significant savings to help make it easier for exhibitors to show with us for the entire circuit. Permanent stall customers will save $1,000 on every stall, while tent stalls are $400 less than they were last season. We hope this, along with some of the other discounts we will offer on RV sites, paddocks, and VIP tables will enable customers to take advantage of all the amenities the HITS Desert Horse Park offers during the circuit.”

For those who plan to stay at the HITS Desert Horse Park with recreational vehicles, HITS is offering circuit rates for its full-service RV sites at $1,250 for the six weeks. Like the stall discounts, the new pricing is a 30% decrease from last year. Paddocks and VIP tables will also be offered at discounted circuit pricing for the 2010 HITS Desert Circuit.

Package pricing will not be the only big news at Thermal in 2010. The HITS Desert Circuit has historically offered some of the richest show jumping prize money west of the Mississippi, and in keeping with that tradition HITS is excited to announce that it will offer a $300,000 Grand Prix as its season finale on Saturday, March 13 as a nighttime class in the outdoor Grand Prix Ring to close out the circuit. This will be the largest Grand Prix purse ever offered on the west coast, and high-performance riders are already marking their calendars for the big day.

“This is very exciting news. I’m really glad that HITS is sticking to their guns and offering this fantastic prize money and some great rates on stalls,” said trainer and high-performance rider Susie Hutchinson. “These circuit prices are incredible. It would cost basically the same to stay home and board the horses. Now we can all go ‘play’ at HITS for the season. I want to give a big thanks to HITS for all they are doing to ensure that West Cost riders have a great place to show all winter.”

Hutchinson, who has been coming to the HITS Desert Circuit since the ‘Indio days’, is impressed with the progress made year after year at the new horse park in Thermal. “I’m really pleased with the way HITS has committed to making Thermal a great circuit. We were all so comfortable with the Indio circuit, and it’s nice to see that after a few years at the Thermal facility the new circuit is really coming into its own. I’m looking forward to a fantastic season with a great outcome!”

As always, HITS aims to provide exhibitors the best horse show experience for their money, and in addition to on-site cost savings, HITS has made arrangements with its Lodging and Car Rental Partners for discounted rates for customers. A complete list of the HITS Thermal Official Lodging and Rental Car Partners will be available on-line and exhibitors are encouraged, whenever possible, to take advantage of the savings offered especially for HITS customers.

The prize list for the HITS Desert Circuit is in development, and HITS plans to mail the book in early October so that exhibitors can begin making their plans early. For more information or to request a copy of the 2010 HITS Desert Circuit prize list, please visit www.HitsShows.com.
