Proud Mary and The Pfizer Million: Rocking and Rolling on The River

Written by: Jessica Nemzoff
Client: HITS-on-the-Hudson and Culpepper
Release Date: 2010-06-10

Saugerties, New York – June 10, 2010 –HITS Inc. is pleased to announce that the exquisite HITS-on-the-Hudson facility will not only be home to the unprecedented Pfizer Million on September 12th, 2010, but will also host a live concert by rock and roll legend John Fogerty.

Come September, the Pfizer Million will write a new chapter in the history of American show jumping, just as Fogerty wrote a new chapter in rock and roll. The Grammy-award winning Rock & Roll Hall of Fame singer songwriter created songs that will never be forgotten, including: Proud Mary, Down On The Corner, Midnight Special, Centerfield, Fortunate Son, Who’ll Stop The Rain, Rock and Roll Girls, Bad Moon Rising, Susie Q, Have You Ever Seen The Rain, and Up Around The Bend.

A remarkable guitarist, Fogerty put the lyrics of life and chords of fame together to create world renowned hits that are still played and respected around the globe to this day, whether in movies, concerts, or simply through the radio. Bruce Springsteen, whose daughter, Jessica Springsteen, is an avid equestrian, said it best at Fogerty’s 1993 induction to the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame: “As a songwriter, only few did as much in three minutes as John Fogerty.”

Commonly referred to as “The Kentucky Derby of Show Jumping”, the Pfizer Million is revolutionizing the sport of show jumping in the United States of America. The top grand prix riders in the world are presently vying for a spot on the prestigious Pfizer Million Rankings List in hopes of becoming eligible to compete for the purse of a lifetime. In order to make it onto the List, riders must compete in eight HITS Grand Prix classes, and their rank on the List is then determined by money won on their top horse. As September approaches, the competition is getting tighter and tighter, and only time will tell which 40 riders make it to one of the coveted top spots that will allow them to partake in this phenomenal event. In addition to those occupying the top 40 slots of the Pfizer Million Rankings List, the winner of the Pfizer Million FEI World Cup Qualifier Wild Card on Saturday, September 11, 2010 as well as five additional riders at the discretion of management will also be eligible to compete.

Do not miss this once in a lifetime opportunity to see the best in world-class show jumping, and the legend of rock and roll all in one afternoon! Tickets are $50, and include access to both the Pfizer Million and the John Fogerty concert. Tickets go on sale, Thursday, June 17 and can be purchased at one of the following locations:
