Lexington, KY – July 24, 2025 – As the conclusion of the 2025 qualifying and membership year approaches on August 31, the National Horse Show wishes to remind all riders and trainers of the membership requirements necessary to participate in ANY National Horse Show class.
Active membership in the National Horse Show Association of America (NHSA) is required for all competitors and trainers with students in the:
ASPCA Maclay
The Hamel Foundation NHS 3’3″ Equitation Championship
THIS NHS Adult Equitation Championship Classes
Competitors must complete their membership application prior to competing in any of the above-mentioned classes. The membership application can be found through the National Horse Show website here and is to be completed online.
Points for the NHSA ASPCA Maclay, Hamel Foundation NHS 3’3″ Equitation Championship, or THIS NHS Adult Equitation Championship Classes will not be awarded retroactively to riders that competed but were not yet members of the NHSA. However, if you compete in a NHSA ASPCA Maclay class as a non-member it will count as one of your fourteen (14) shows, regardless of whether or not you receive any points.
