May 26, 2024 – Devon, PA – As the sun began to set over a Dixon Oval with packed stands, another exciting change of disciplines took place as the WIHS Shetland Steeplechase course was replaced with a combination of Cross Country and Stadium Jumping obstacles for the $50,0000 Devon Arena Eventing class. A unique and rare form of competition, Arena Eventing features only two of the three disciplines of eventing, Stadium Jumping and Cross Country, and is only offered at four other horse shows in the world.

Renowned international course designer, Olympic Gold Medalist, and former US Olympic Eventing Team Coach, Captain Mark Phillips, designed this evenings course across the two arenas (Dixon & Wheeler) over 25 obstacles. The class saw a star studded field featuring multiple Pan American and Olympic Games Gold medalists. Eleven riders were brought back for the jump off to vie for their share of the $50,000 purse. When all was said and done the win went to Boyd Martin aboard Miss Lulu Herself, a Hanoverian Mare by Stolzenfels x Noisette owned by Bonnie Stedt.
