JJ Torano Wins Opening Junior Jumper Class at Devon for Second Straight Year

Devon, Pennsylvania – May 21, 2026 – Junior jumper riders took to the Dixon Oval for the first evening session of the 2026 show in Thursday night’s 1.40m Junior Jumper Speed Class.

JJ Torano claimed first-place honors aboard North Run’s Hanoverian stallion Lyon 50 (Lord Argentinus x Lexi’s Girl) with a fault-free time of 53.163 seconds. This marks the second consecutive year that Torano has raced to victory in the 1.40m Junior Jumper Speed Class.

“It’s very historic, and to be here at Devon, even to show, is really an honor,” Torano shared about the significance of competing in and winning the class for the second consecutive year. “I’ve been partnered with Lyon for over a year now. We know each other very well. We’ve had countless wins. We took the U25 final win together [$50,000 BrainJuice U25 Grand Prix Final]. So, I think it comes down to the partnership. He’s a super fast horse, super competitive. He gives 100% every time.”

Second place went to Violet Tatum aboard Tatum Equestrian LLC’s Flotylla, while Amy Krebs finished third with her own Jabantos.
