Devon, Pennsylvania – September 11, 2025 –The final weekend of under-the-lights action in the Dixon Oval at the Devon Show Grounds for 2025 commenced Thursday evening with the $5,000 1.40m Welcome Jumper Stake, sponsored by Remarkable Leather Goods.
31 horse-and-rider combinations took to the first round course designed by Manual Esparza (MEX).
Of the 31 pairs, it was Laura Chapot and her own 2016 Selle Francais gelding, Ginola (Tangelo Van De Zuuthoeve x Velvet Du Lyvet) who claimed their first win of the 2025 Devon Fall Classic.
Chapot rode two additional horses in Thursday night’s class, including C&C Willow, the horse she placed second on in last year’s Welcome Stake, and her new mount, Jolie van Schuttershof — The Jolie Group’s 10-year-old Belgian Sport Horse mare (Ducati van Schuttershof x Clarimo Ask). “Jolie,” who came from German Olympic rider Richard Vogel, and Chapot partnered up earlier this year and have found quick success in the ring together.
Morgan Ward-Knowlton placed second with Gowe Farms’ Warmblood gelding, GF Diego, while Rachael Lively and Eggs Over Easy, LLC’s Warmblood gelding, Wavo Alvaro (Cento Lano Arcus x Wavo Aretha) came in third.
Competition at the Devon Fall Classic continues Friday, September 12, with the highlight, $10,000 1.40m Speed Stake, sponsored by Land Rover Mainline.
