“He’s just such a great horse. Ella Tarumianz tried him and when we first bought him, we weren’t sure how fast he would progress, just starting him in the 3’6” or how fast Ella would get into the 3’6” Juniors on a green horse. He did Devon for the first time this year. He was such a good boy, so she started doing 3’6” Juniors way faster than we expected. It’s just a testament to Lainie DeBoer and all the time she put into developing him. It’s been a really fun year.”

“He’s been great all week, so consistent. We haven’t done a lot of first years in conformation, just enough to get him used to it and hopefully, his owner can do it with him next year. He is just a star, he jumps great, moves like a thoroughbred, and he’s a special horse. His plan for next year will be for him to do the 3’6 and he will be Lynn’s amateur horse and she’ll keep him forever. This is his fourth indoors and he has gotten better every time which is unusual.”

“He is always very good, his handy round was great yesterday and I felt like he tried to win with his heart today. It always feels great to win at The National Horse Show, the tradition of it makes it special for me and with this being the end of the year I always like to peak and end on a good note.”

“I thought he jumped fantastic, he had two great scores yesterday which continued through today. We were champions last year and he has only gotten better since, which is great because he never had a pre-green year. He is very brave but does take a little more leg since he likes to go slow, but he makes up for it in his huge stride which is great.”

“He’s been stupendous here, we took a week off and had a nice break at home where I flatted him a couple times so he came well rested. He is the horse of a lifetime, he truly is. Every part of him including his character, sharpness, and jumping is easy so we don’t have to work very hard to make him go great. I only brought two down for this horse show so I had a lot of time to focus on Chappy himself and his prep yesterday was going on a trail ride in the field and eating grass. I just try to make him happy and keep him fresh. This is my first time being champion at this horse show and he’s a special horse to get to do that with.
Dr. Betsee Parker’s, California Love was named as the 2024 Rockstar Grand Champion Professional Hunter, presented by Jennifer Burger, having accumulated the most points in the $10,000 High-Performance Conformation Hunter Division, as well as the Championship title.
Rider Scott Stewart was also awarded the 2024 Rockstar Leading Hunter Rider Award and The Leading Hunter Rider Challenge Trophy, presented by Jennifer Burger.
The Holsteiner stallion, California Love (Clarimo x Daytona Love) is owned by Dr. Betsee Parker, Baroness of Locheil in Scotland.
