Alex Granato and Carlchen W Are Two-For-Two with MLSJ $230,000 Grand Prix CSI5* Win
Traverse City, Mich. — July 18, 2021 — Competition in Week II of the Great Lakes Equestrian Festival (GLEF), presented by CaptiveOne Advisors, came to a head on Sunday, July 18, with the Major League Show Jumping (MLSJ) $230,000 Grand Prix CSI5* taking place in the lTurtle Creek Casino & Hotel International Ring. Thirty-five top show jumping competitors gathered once again to vie for the most prestigious individual honors of the MLSJ Tour’s inaugural week. At the conclusion of the class, it was Alex Granato and Bright Lights Group’s Carlchen W who claimed their second CSI5* win of the week, and their first CSI5* grand prix win together.
Samantha Schaefer and In The Know Capture the $10,000 Traverse City Derby, Presented by Luxe EQ
On the final day of exciting hunter competition during World Champion Hunter Rider (WCHR) Week of the Great Lakes Equestrian Festival (GLEF), presented by CaptiveOne Advisors, top riders returned with their mounts to the Polk Family Hunter Ring to close out the week. The feature hunter class, the $10,000 Traverse City Derby, presented by Luxe EQ, kicked off bright and early, seeing a field of 55 talented combinations tackle the derby course. At the conclusion of the class’ competitive two rounds, it was Samantha Schaefer and her long time mount, In The Know, who rode away with the top prize.
