Benjamin Ebeling Claims Triple Gold CDIO-U25 Nations Cup Medals in American Equus Irons

Wellington, Fla. – March 19, 2020 – The final week of competition at the Adequan Global Dressage Festival (AGDF) saw riders from seven nations gather together to compete in the CDIO3* Nations Cup. While the winter season was cut short due to COVID-19 concerns, riders made the most of their last week in the Global stadium, putting in great rides in hopes of finishing out the competition on a high note. For American U25 rider Benjamin Ebeling, his dreams were realized in the final week, when he took home three gold medals in American Equus stirrups.

Riding his new Grand Prix mount Illuster Van De Kampert, a 12-year-old Belgian Warmblood gelding owned by Nuvolari Holdings, LLC, Ebeling helped the U.S. U25 team secure the team gold medal following the Intermediate II competition when they earned a score of 70% for second place. CDIO-U25 competition continued the following day with the Grand Prix 16-25 for the Individual medals, where the pair took the gold for their 71.179% performance. To cap off the week, they then earned gold in the Grand Prix Freestyle 16-25 with an impressive score of 75.13%.

“Winning a team medal for me is one of the most satisfying and exciting accomplishments in the sport of dressage, and to have that result in our first U25 Nations Cup was very rewarding for the whole team,” Ebeling explained. “This win was special because it became clear to me that my horse is on a good path; his scores have been trending upwards now for our past six outings, and now we broke the 70% barrier. The most special thing about the whole weekend was realizing that after hard work and determination, great results are being achieved. I am hoping to continue building on these scores and keep our upward scoring trend.”
Ebeling explained how his choice to trust American Equus stirrups has helped him in both the show ring and schooling ring. Starting with the best gear possible to help him achieve a secure seat and center of gravity was of the utmost importance to him as he aimed to compete at the highest level of the sport of dressage.
“I really love the American Equus stirrups. They’re light and not bulky, have great design and keep my foot in the stirrup with their integrated foot bed. Being a show jumper in addition to my dressage career, I feel that they are easily adaptable to both sports, which is important for me. I need a stirrup that remains in place on my foot for both disciplines, and this stirrup does that perfectly.”
