Thermal, Calif. – Nov. 4, 2021 – FEI CSI3* competition, presented by Marshall & Sterling, kicked off on Thursday at the Desert International Horse Park. The highlight event of the second day of competition during the National Sunshine Series was the $9,100 1.40m, sponsored by VitaFlex, where 32 horse and rider combinations vied for the winning honors in the two-phase competition. Brazil’s Cassio Rivetti proved to be the best with Alanine De Vains, edging out Jamie Taylor and Cocoliche of Greenhill Z by just 3/10ths of second to take home the top prize.

Eric Navet and Coronado Blue NF Narrowly Nab $2,500 Welcome Speed at National Sunshine Series I


Thermal, Calif. – Nov. 3, 2021 – The Grand Prix Stadium at the Desert International Horse Park hosted athletes for the start of the 2021-2022 show season as the first week of the National Sunshine Series got underway on Wednesday. The highlight event of the day was the $2,500 Welcome Speed, sponsored by SmartPak. Thirty-five horse and rider combinations sped around the track, and at the end of the day it was France’s Eric Navet and Coronado Blue NF who led the lap of honor.

Alexis Taylor and Catendro Score High Performance Hunter Championship at National Sunshine Series I


Thermal, Calif. – Nov. 4, 2021 – The professional hunters concluded on Thursday morning at the Desert International Horse Park during the first week of the National Sunshine Series. Alexis Taylor took center stage in the Main Hunter Ring, scoring the High Performance Hunter Championship, sponsored by Oz Inc, aboard Catendro, while Juliette Joseph and Flip De Hus Z earned the reserve championship honors.

Earlier in the day, the Conformation Hunter division, sponsored by Ramard, came to a close with Mitch Endicott capturing the championship prize with Aventus, owned by Jennifer Cancellieri. The duo won the first over fences class as well as the hack to earn the championship title. The reserve championship was presented to Nick Haness and Violet Tatum’s Valedictorian. Haness also earned the Green 3’6” Hunter Championship, sponsored by Brookway Stables, this time aboard Ecole Lathrop’s Starburst. Kylee Arbuckle and Sienna Faidi’s Esteban took home the division’s reserve championship award.

Shawn Casady and Cassario 8 Capture Green 3’9” Hunter Wins to Kick Off National Sunshine Series I


Thermal, Calif. – Nov. 3, 2021 – Athletes returned to the Desert International Horse Park on Wednesday to kick off the season during the first week of the National Sunshine Series. The professional hunter divisions took center stage in Hunter 1. Shawn Casady and the Ashland Farms-owned Cassario 8 had a dominating performance in the Green 3’9” Hunters, winning both of the division’s over fences classes to start the week.
