Cassio Rivetti and Kaiser Van Het Lambroeck Dominate $25,000 Alliant Private Client National Grand Prix in Temecula

Jumper Winners Throughout the Week Include Sophie Simpson, Michelle Parker, Lauren Myers and Hayden Zadel

Temecula, Calif. – June 29, 2020 – As one of the first competitions to take place on the West Coast in recent months, the Temecula Valley National Summer Series, presented by Interactive Mortgage and operated by Nilforushan Equisports Events, featured sold-out stalls during its first week of riding June 24 – 28. Over the course of five days of equestrian action, horse-and-rider partnerships demonstrated that they put their downtime from COVID-19 to good use, turning in impressive rounds and keeping the level of competition high at Galway Downs. Though the stands were nearly empty and social distancing was in full effect, that did not stop a series of skilled partnerships from laying down their best efforts in attempts to grab a win, with Cassio Rivetti (BRA) and Neil Jones Equestrian Inc.’s Kaiser Van Het Lambroeck ultimately laying claim to the victory in the feature class of the week Saturday afternoon, the $25,000 Alliant Private Client National Grand Prix.

Brimming with top talent, the $25,000 Alliant Private Client National Grand Prix attracted a lofty 58 entries to the Grand Prix Arena prepared to test course designer John Manning’s 1.40m track. Following the first round of riding, 12 combinations had earned a slot in the jump-off thanks to fault-free initial trips. Proving to be the best of the afternoon by edging out the large field, Rivetti and Kaiser Van Het Lambroeck kept all the fences intact over the abridged course and stopped the timers at a nimble 39.216 seconds, which would be fast enough for the win. Just fractions of a second off the pace, Joie Gatlin (USA) and JGMA Meadows’ High Five captured the runner-up position thanks to a clear time of 39.341 seconds, and Kaitlin Campbell (USA) finished out the podium riding SWS Training & Sales’ Doraindo after stopping the clock as the third-fastest of six total double-clear pairs in 39.846 seconds.

Cassio Rivetti and Cornet

Earlier in the week, top riders battled it out in the $10,000 Optimum Performance 1.40m Welcome Speed held on Thursday, June 25th. Another win in his collection, Rivetto topped the sizable pack of 51 exhibitors with the reins on Neil Jones Equestrian Inc.’s Cornet, who sliced across the ring with efficient speed and precision in order to clinch the victory. Aboard Alix Fargo’s Laurence Z, Susan Artes earned the second-place honors, and Harley Brown nabbed third place riding Alessandra Volpi’s Absolute Du Mio.

Sophie Simpson and A Picasso De Vie

Other jumper highlights throughout the week included Sophie Simpson topping the $5,000 Freejump 1.35m Speed Challenge aboard A Picasso De Vie, owned by Will Simpson Stables Inc., followed closely behind by Raymond Texel and Alder Lane Farm LLC’s Auroras Diamond. In the $5,000 Kask 1.20m Jumper Classic, it was Michelle Parker and CCF Hibiscus Coast, owned by Cross Creek Farms, Inc., who would top the field of 25, while owner-rider Erin Nichols and Fairy Tale took second place.

Taking home top honors in Sunday’s $5,000 Ogilvy Junior/Amateur-Owner/Amateur Jumper High 1.45m Classic with the fastest jump-off time was Lauren Myers on her own Willow, who bested the field to conclude the first week of riding in Temecula on a high note. Owner-rider Sophia Siegel and Barracuda earned second place in the class. The quickest of four double-clear pairs, Hayden Zadel rose to the occasion riding HHZ, LLC’s Triskel De Kerliven to lead the lap of honor following the $2,500 Equ Lifestyle Boutique Junior/Amateur-Owner/Amateur Jumper Medium 1.35m Classic, with Ava Spinale and her own Chesterfield earning the reserve honors.
