Harrisonburg, Va. – March 19, 2017 – The Mid-Atlantic Junior Angus Classic (MAJAC) Regional Preview Show rewarded many of Cherry Knoll Farm’s (CKF) juniors. For the past two years the team at CKF had its talented string of junior competitors sweep the divisions, and in 2017, CKF manager, Tim Fitzgerald, and the CKF operation returned to the ring to continue their success in Harrisonburg, Virginia.

The MAJAC Regional Preview Show saw tight competition from numerous competitors; however, it was Elizabeth Trowbridge and Michael Butz who claimed impressive awards. Cherry Knoll Ark Pride 1593 was shown by Trowbridge and they earned the titles of Reserve Grand Champion Female and Senior Champion Female. Butz was awarded the Reserve Late Junior Champion Female with Cherry Knoll Elsa 1640.

The CKF junior competitors also ranked in the ribbons throughout the two-day competition in their classes, with a second place for Cherry Knoll Ark Pride 1627, shown by Claudia Hissong. Kaitlyn Bell showed Cherry Knoll Elsa 1663 and placed second in her class. In addition, Cherry Knoll Elsa 1655, shown by Jade Zimmerman, placed second in her class.
During the Bred and Owned Heifer Show, Bryce Fitzgerald showed Cherry Knoll May 1672 and was awarded the title of Intermediate Bred and Owned Champion Female.

One of the highest honors at MAJAC, the Senior Showmanship, was awarded to Claudia Hissong.
“As one of the first shows of our spring schedule for our team of juniors, the show went very well,” Fitzgerald said. “We had a very successful two days of showing in the junior show. We had multiple families who had cattle from Cherry Knoll and they were very pleased with their results. Everyone had a great time.”
