Cherry Knoll Farm Wins Premier Breeder at 2017 Atlantic National Super Point ROV Angus Show

Timonium, Md. – June 8, 2017 – The Atlantic National Super Point Roll of Victory (ROV) Angus Show saw the Cherry Knoll Farm team claim numerous titles in Timonium, Maryland, on May 24-28. Cherry Knoll Farm lead the competition taking home 10 championship titles and winning the Premier Breeder & Breeder’s Best Six Head awards.

“I am thrilled with the performance of our team in Maryland,” Cherry Knoll Farm’s cattle manager, Tim Fitzgerald, said. “We had multiple families who had cattle from Cherry Knoll and everyone was pleased with their results.”

The Late Fall Heifer Calf championship title was awarded to Cherry Knoll Rosebud 1627 with Claudia Hissong and the Early Fall Heifer Calf Reserve Champion was Cherry Knoll Elsa 1676, showed by Calvin Levisay.

Bryce Fitzgerald showed Woodruff Angus Farm’s Cherry Knoll May 1672 and they earned the Champion Late Summer Heifer Calf title.

The Champion Junior Female was granted to Cherry Knoll Elsa 1510 shown by Alexis Wright. Fitzgerald Angus and Brody Fitzgerald with their heifer, Cherry Knoll Lady 1481, took home the esteemed Champion Senior Female title.

Bulls bred by Cherry Knoll Farm also found success in Maryland with Spring Hope Angus Farm and Cherry Knoll Farm’s Cherry Knoll Spring Hope Insight 1647 claiming Champion Summer Bull Calf. Cherry Knoll Brennen 1609 of Cherry Knoll Farm and Wilmer Hostetter won the title of Champion Early Spring Bull Calf.

During the Bred and Owned Show, Cherry Knoll Lady 1481, handled by Brody Fitzgerald, was awarded Bred and Owned Grand Champion Female and Cherry Knoll May 1672, handled by Bryce Fitzgerald, was announced as Bred and Owned Reserve Grand Champion Female as well.

Cherry Knoll Farm’s team also earned numerous top placings in multiple classes throughout the five-day show. Cherry Knoll Rosebud 1572 with the Dietrich Sisters’ and Just Enuff Angus came in first place in her class. Cherry Knoll Ark Pride 1593 shown by Elizabeth Trowbridge, Cherry Knoll Elisha 1691 and Courtney Dehn, as well as Cherry Knoll Elsa 1680 with Jace Pipkin all came in second place in their classes. Erin Barnes placed second in both of her classes with Cherry Knoll May 1647 and Cherry Knoll Lady 1596. Additional second place winners include Cherry Knoll Elisha 1640 with Michael Butz and Cherry Knoll Hailey 1568 shown by Alexis Cash.

Cherry Knoll Ark Pride 1606, showed by Jera Pipkin and Cherry Knoll Elsa 1610 with Kathryn Coleman both placed third in their classes.

Not only did Cherry Knoll Farm shine in the Angus shows, they also demonstrated excellent showmanship. Claudia Hissong claimed the highest honor by being awarded the Senior Champion Showman and Supreme Champion Showman awards. Brody Fitzgerald was awarded third place in the Senior Showmanship Division, and Michael Butz earned third place in the Junior Showmanship Division.
