Cherry Knoll Farm Wins Premier Breeder and Exhibitor Two Years in a Row at Keystone International Livestock Exposition

Harrisburg, Pa. – Oct. 11, 2017 – The team at Cherry Knoll Farm (CKF) had a standout weekend at the Keystone International Livestock Exposition (KILE) ROV Angus Show and Junior Angus Show in Harrisburg, Pennsylvania. For the second year in a row, Cherry Knoll Farm received top open show results winning Premier Breeder and Exhibitor. On Friday, Oct. 6, CKF also received the Breeders’ Best 6 Head award at the Pennsylvania Farm Complex and Expo Center.

“We are thrilled with the show at Keystone this year!” Cherry Knoll Farm’s cattle manager, Tim Fitzgerald, said.

Cherry Knoll Elsa 1610, owned by Kathryn Coleman, stole the show by winning Grand Champion Heifer. The young heifer, who is out of Cherry Knoll Elsa 8014 and sired by Plain View Lutton E 102, is coming off of a stellar summer as she also won Grand Champion Female at the All-American Angus Breeders’ Futurity.

In addition to their championship and reserve championship titles, the Cherry Knoll Farm team also placed well in individual classes. Cherry Knoll Elsa 1640, with Michael Butz, and Cherry Knoll Ark Pride 1627, with Claudia Hissong, placed second in their classes.

“As one of the first shows of fall, the show went very well,” Fitzgerald explained. “We had two great days of showing in both the open and junior show. We had multiple families who had cattle from Cherry Knoll and everyone had a great time! Now we are looking forward to hosting two open house events prior to our annual fall sale.”
