Cherry Knoll Farm Wishes Paralympian Rebecca Hart Well on New Adventure

Wellington, Fla. – July 28, 2017 – Margaret Duprey of Cherry Knoll Farm and three-time Paralympian Rebecca Hart have had a fruitful partnership since first forming on Hart’s road to the 2008 Hong Kong Paralympic Games. From multiple national championship titles to the World Equestrian Games in Normandy and Paralympic Games in Hong Kong, London and Rio de Janeiro, Cherry Knoll Farm has supported Hart through many achievements.

“Many people have supported me in this journey – my family, friends and members of the horse community – but I’ll always be grateful to Margaret [Duprey] for her support. I wouldn’t be where I am today without her,” Hart said. “We have worked with each other on so many different levels for the last decade. She has been incredibly generous over the years and has helped to develop me into the rider I am today. She has given me the opportunity to travel internationally and to raise my game to a professional level, which allowed me to compete with the best.”

In December 2016, the decision was made to retire Hart’s 2014 World Equestrian Games and 2016 Paralympic mount, Schroeter’s Romani, a 15-year-old Danish Warmblood mare owned by Hart in conjunction with Duprey, Cherry Knoll Farm, Barbara Summer and William and Sandy Kimmel. Hart and Schroeter’s Romani had an exciting career together with top finishes around the world. The pair are two-time US Equestrian National High Performance Champions and have won more than 15 CPEDI3* classes in the United States. In addition to their success nationally, the decorated pair also claimed multiple CPEDI3* wins throughout Europe, including competitions in Hartpury, England, Mannheim, Germany, Deauville, France, and Moorsele, Belgium.

After Schroeter’s Romani’s retirement, Hart began to search for another talented equine partner with the goal in mind of qualifying for next year’s World Equestrian Games in Tryon, North Carolina. Fortunately, Hart was able to acquire a suitable mount with another benefactor and Cherry Knoll Farm wishes her the best of luck in her upcoming competitions with her new team.

“We had a great run together and I am excited for the next chapter in her life with a new horse,” Duprey said. “It is amazing to be a part of the cheerleading team, and she is such an inspiration with her grit, drive to win and determination to not let her disability hold her back from her dreams. Watching the progression of her riding and the improvement of the scores over the years was exciting to me. I wish her the best of luck going forward and I look forward to continuing to cheer her on from the sidelines. I will always be a part of her life as a friend.”

“It has been so great to have Margaret as such a big part of my family of supporters,” Hart said. “We have had many great adventures together! Although we’re currently pursuing alternate paths, I’ll never forget how much her support means to me. She will always have a particular place in my heart and be a mentor and a friend that I respect and look up to.

“Just as she partnered with others in her support of me as a rider, she encouraged me to seek other sponsors and expand my base of support,” Hart concluded. “I am thankful for this because it pushed me out of my comfort zone and has led to an exciting new partnership opportunity that I am really looking forward to.”
