Camden, Sc. – Oct. 26, 2019 – Danny & Ron’s Rescue is pleased to announce the appointment of Nukhet Hendricks to the position of Executive Director for the Rescue. As Executive Director, Ms. Hendricks will support the expansion of the Rescue’s programs and outreach into the community to increase adoptions and number of dogs saved, and advocate for the welfare of dogs. Building upon the public awareness generated by the success of the movie “Life in the Doghouse,” she will work with the Founders and a dynamic team of staff and volunteers to increase awareness of the importance of adoption, spaying and neutering, and the humane treatment of dogs. The movie features the extraordinary story of Danny and Ron, the founders of the
rescue, who turned their own home into the ultimate safe haven to provide homeless dogs a warm and caring environment to prepare them for adoption with a loving family.

“We are thrilled to welcome Nukhet to our team,” says Ron Danta, President and Founder. “The depth of her leadership experience of nonprofit organizations, her success in bringing people and resources together to foster growth and long-term sustainability, plus her love of animals, will be a
great asset to the Rescue as we grow and expand our programs to have an even greater impact on the welfare of dogs.”

Ms. Hendricks has more than 28 years of highly successful experience leading and administering nonprofit organizations. Since 2006, she served as Executive Director of Homeward Animal Shelter in Fargo, North Dakota where she was responsible for strategic planning, program development,
marketing, fundraising and overall leadership and administration of the organization. Like Danny & Ron’s Rescue which began with the rescue of dogs in the aftermath of Hurricane Katrina, Ms. Hendricks mobilized the first-ever Emergency Animal Shelter in 2009 to provide shelter for pets of
families who were displaced by the massive flood of that year. She also established the Safe Paws program that provides safe foster families for pets of victims of domestic violence, reuniting pets after victims find a stable and safe home. Because of the growth of the organization under her tenure, the shelter was recognized with a Chamber Choice – Public Choice Award in 2017.

Dedicated to missions that involve women, children and animals, Ms. Hendricks has a rich history of administrative, fundraising and program development experience in these areas of focus. She served as Director of Development for ShareHouse, Inc. which provides addiction treatment and
housing for homeless single parents, and as Annual Giving and Special Event Coordinator with The Village Family Service Center. To promote public safely, she also directed and mobilized organizations and the public to save lives through a community-wide effort to promote the use of seat belts, child safety seats, and reduce the incidence of driving under the influence.

Building on her own success as a nonprofit leader, Ms. Nukhet also managed a highly successful consulting and coaching service to support and empower women and girls to become stronger and more effective leaders. Ms. Hendricks holds a Masters of Science in Public and Human Service Administration from the Minnesota State University. She will begin her work with the Rescue on December 2, 2019.
