The first week of competition, held at the highly esteemed Devon Show Grounds, is recognized by the World Champion Hunter Rider (WCHR) program. As highlight events, the USHJA Green Hunter Incentive Regional Championships will take center stage Thursday, June 30, in the Dixon Oval. The USHJA National Hunter Derby will take place Saturday, July 2, and the Emerson Burr Horsemanship Grant Tests will also take place during Week I. Wrapping up Week I will be the USHJA Pony Derby on Sunday, July 3.

Week II of the Brandywine Horse Shows will feature the USHJA National Hunter Derby Regional Championships Tuesday, July 5, and the Junior Hunter Challenge Saturday, July 9. Week II will also include the USHJA Zone 2 Championships.

“Hosting the National Hunter Derby Regional Championship is an honor, and we know it will be a special event in the famed Dixon Oval,” said Paul Jewell, Brandywine Horse Shows Manager. “With the new Junior Hunter Challenge, we’re really trying to do something different and out of the box to make it something special for junior hunter riders rather than a normal classic. We’re trying to up our game a little bit at the Brandywine Horse Show with our new programs and we are looking forward to welcoming exhibitors back for another great year of competition.”

Other exciting opportunities include the THIS National Children’s and Adult Medals, NAL and M&S High Children’s Adult Jumper Classics, the Hamel NHS 3’3″ Medal and the $2,500 Mike Rheinheimer Equitation Trainers Award.

The $5,000 Rider Bonus will be presented to the top three professional riders who accumulate the highest number of points during the Brandywine Horse Shows. Brandywine is also pleased to offer the $500 Daily High Score awards for both the Hunter and Equitation Rings.
