David Beisel and Essince W Secure Wire-to-Wire Victory in $50,000 Rood & Riddle Grand Prix at Kentucky Summer
Lexington, KY – July 31, 2021 – The feature event of the Kentucky Summer Horse Show, the $50,000 Rood & Riddle Grand Prix, was held Saturday evening in the Rolex Stadium with an enthusiastic crowd excited to cheer on the field of competitors during the Kentucky Horse Park’s Hats Off Day. Eleven horses advanced to the tiebreaker with clear rounds, but only David Beisel was able to master the jump-off course with Essince W as the first to return, securing a wire-to-wire victory. Kady Abrahamson and Any had the fastest 4-fault effort for second place, while Celso Ariani (BRA) and Ukulman De La Nutria rounded out the top three.
Helen Voss and Cantina Take Home Hagyard Grand Amateur-Owner Hunter Championship
Lexington, KY – July 31, 2021 – After successful rides in the Stonelea ring on the first day of Amateur-Owner hunter competition on Friday at the Kentucky Summer Horse Show, several talented riders and their mounts were in contention for the title of Grand Amateur-Owner Hunter Champion. After two days of impressive results, it was Helen Voss and her young mount Cantina who bested a field of 16 entries in the Amateur-Owner 3’3” 18-35 Hunter division to take home the division championship as well as earn the most points of any Amateur-Owner hunter rider throughout the week to take home the coveted title of Hagyard Grand Amateur-Owner Hunter Champion, presented by Hagyard Medical Institute.
