Buffalo, N.Y. – Sept. 10, 2021 – Next week, the 74th Buffalo International Horse Show (BIHS) will kick off at the Buffalo Therapeutic Riding Center (BTRC). The annual charity horse show will run September 15-19 and will feature an array of hunter, jumper and equitation classes for everyone to enjoy whether you are an exhibitor, trainer or spectator.
Highlights include the $7,000 Johnson Horse Transportation Hunter Derby, the $4,000 S.A. Comunale NAL Child/Adult Jumper Classic and the $3,000 S.A. Comunale Low Child/Adult Classic, all commencing on Saturday evening. Renowned hunter judges Keri Kampsen and Jenny Fischer will be judging the hunter and equitation classes through the week while Heidi d’Angelo will officiate over the jumper ring.
In addition, the BIHS is proud to feature the following incentives:
• Baby Green Hunters will have no entry fee. Bring your young ones to the BIHS for positive early show experiences.
• Trainers who bring five showing horses will receive one free stall; bring 10 showing horses and get two stalls free.
• Exhibitors traveling over 100 miles will receive one stall at half price.
The annual charity horse show is an A rated by US Equestrian (USEF) and holds the distinct title of USEF Heritage competition, reserved for horse shows that have been established for a long period of time and have made substantial contributions toward the development and promotion of the sport within the broader community by achieving, maintaining and promoting the equestrian ideals of sportsmanship and competition. The BIHS is proud to be one of only 32 horse shows nationwide that holds this illustrious status.
