Austin, TX – Jan. 17, 2017 – The Enviro Equine & PET team is excited to announce its new partnerships with world-class Canadian riders Erynn Ballard and Angela Covert. Both Ballard and Covert have recently signed on as Enviro Equine & PET Brand Ambassadors after much success with the products. The Enviro team is thrilled to move forward with both of these talented riders and their horses to help them accomplish ongoing show ring success while maintaining a healthy lifestyle.
Ballard has been known throughout the hunter/jumper show circuit for many years as a top competitor, trainer and catch rider. She began her competitive career at the age of only six and her subsequent junior career boasted hundreds of successes, including being only the second Canadian to earn the coveted title of ASPCA Maclay National Champion in 1998. Ballard achieved Team Bronze in the 1996 North American Young Rider Championships and returned to claim individual gold three years later.
Now a professional, Ballard continues to produce and achieve success both with her own horses and in the mentorship of her students at Looking Back Farm which she owns and operates. As a professional, Ballard helped team Canada capture the win at the Spruce Meadows Masters in 2006 and individually has won the three-phase Canada Cup Championship at the Tournament of Champions.
“After the first ten days of using the products I could already see my horses’ coats coming in better; more rich in color and the skin softer to touch. In the winter it is so hard to keep them shiny but when you can visually see a difference, you know it’s working,” Ballard enthused. “I’m a huge believer in ulcer treatment for horses. I am known for riding very ‘hot’ jumpers so anything I can do to keep their ‘blood’ manageable is always a bonus, and I think ulcer health is key in managing a horses behavior.”
Covert is also a successful competitor in the show jumping arena, having gone on to enjoy international competition after her junior years. Covert began her riding career at age six in Nova Scotia and competed in the pony, hunter and equitation divisions before moving into the jumpers at age 14. She was awarded the Gillian Wilson Trophy as the 1994 Canadian Equestrian Federation’s ‘Junior Equestrian of the Year’. She has won multiple grand prix including the $40,000 Grand Prix du Quebec and the $60,000 Grand Prix of Rockwood. Covert’s dreams of international competition were achieved in both 2010 and 2011 where she represented Canada as a member of the Nation’s Cup teams in Buenos Aires, Argentina. With the help of Covert’s performances, Canada placed second in 2010 and won the gold in 2011.
“The Enviro Equine supplements are like no other because of the quality of the ingredients and the fact that so much research has gone into them. The science behind them and the iFEED system is genius. Typically competition horses are kept in stalls most of day and taken to weird environments, so if they can have those little meals often I think it’s really a big help,” Covert said of her experience. “I just started with the products about two months ago and it has definitely improved my grand prix horse who is turning 17 this year. His coat was starting to look really bad, which it hadn’t in his whole life, but now he’s back to looking like his normal shiny, dappled self.”
