Petaluma, Calif. – June 20, 2019 – From June 15 to 16 at the Sonoma Horse Park during the HMI June Classic, teams of exhibitors competed in the second ever SHP Equitation-Transportation Team Challenge. As a first time sponsor of events at the Sonoma Horse Park, EquiJet was delighted to be introduced as the 2019 Official Sponsor, and awarded first prize winners Nina Alario and Caroline Robbins each with a $1,000 EquiJet travel gift certificate. Throughout the summer season, EquiJet will also support the show via four more weeks of hunter and jumper classics throughout the series.

Now in its second year, the unique and fun SHP Equitation-Transportation Team Challenge class featured teams of two entered to compete in the class, which is open to all statuses of riders, however, there must be at least one Junior or Amateur rider on each team. After one teammate navigated a 3′ course, the jumps were raised and the distances adjusted for the counterpart to compete over a track set at 3’6″ in height. Taking place over the course of two days, each rider completed two rounds of riding. Emphasis was placed on riding style, technique and promptness in completing the course, and riders were awarded for swiftness and executing the course on the most efficient track.
Following a tight competition, the SHP Equitation-Transportation Team Challenge class, sponsored by EquiJet, was won by team Estancia Equitators, comprised of trainer Nina Alario and Caroline Robbins. Both were carried off from the winner’s circle on their brand new Pedego Interceptor Electric Bikes, each with a $1,000 EquiJet Gift Certificate in hand to help find future travels.

“The Equitation-Transportation is a great event and the management keeps a good balance of fun and competition. We look forward to coming back to try again next year! Everyone should give this class a go, as the more people who take part, the more fun we can all have. Caroline and I are so excited to try out our new Pededo Interceptors. Add this to the EquiJet $1,000 Gift Certificate and it really has been a wonderful day!” commented Alario.
