Eva Fisherman Impresses in Dover Saddlery/USEF Hunter Seat Medal During Second Equitation Tuesday

Traverse City, Mich. – July 17, 2020 – Kicking off Week Three of the Great Lakes Equestrian Festival, presented by CaptiveOne Advisors LLC, equitation competition returned to the GGT Footing Ring on Tuesday, July 14, for the second of four total editions of the Equitation Tuesday series set to take place over the coming weeks. As many qualifying periods edge closer to their closing date for the 2020 indoors season, junior athletes spared no opportunity to secure double the amount of typically available qualifying points at one horse show. In the Dover Saddlery/USEF Hunter Seat Medal, it was Eva Fisherman who impressed with her style and skill to take home the win.

Up against a total of 14 competitors, Fisherman displayed correct position, an effective seat and style aboard North Run’s Bigtalu G Z. Under the tutelage of top equitation trainer Missy Clark, Fisherman rode a finely-tuned track over Joe Carnicorn’s course to best the competitive field.

“Talu” is a fairly new partner for Fisherman, as they competed together for the first time during the 2020 Winter Equestrian Festival. The 8-year-old Zangersheide gelding is an experienced equitation horse that has attended many of the largest equitation finals in the country over the past few years.

In the ASPCA/NHSAA Maclay Horsemanship class, Madison Rauschenbach rode her own Iwan to a first-place finish while Addison Stoughton piloted Phoebe Backman’s Destiny to a win in the Hamel Foundation NHS 3’3” Medal. Mark Richter won the USHJA 3’3” Hunter Seat Medal aboard Ashland Farms’ Ballendro.

Equitation Tuesday will continue as the kick-off for Week Four and Five of the Great Lakes Equestrian Festival, presented by CaptiveOne Advisors LLC, giving young riders additional chances to showcase their talents and earn valuable points.
