George Morris Travels to Arizona to Teach Next Generation of Riders at Smoke Tree Ranch

Wellington, Fla. – April 5, 2018 – George H. Morris is pleased to announce that he will be traveling to the Southwestern region of the United States where he will host one of his renowned clinics at Betty Beran’s Smoke Tree Ranch, located in Scottsdale, Arizona from April 6-8, 2018.

Upon his retirement as the United States Show Jumping Team chef d’equipe, Morris has set his sights on helping to develop the future of the sport by conducting clinics across the globe. Known as the “founding father” of hunt-seat equitation, Morris emphasizes the need for mastery of correct form and function in the saddle, as well as sound horsemanship and a workmanlike attitude in the barn. Over the course of his career, Morris has been highly successful in the horse community as a rider, coach, clinician, judge, and author.

Morris will instruct participants over the course of three days and instill his teachings to groups of up to eight riders. There will be three sessions per day.

An icon of the sport, Morris is known for his insistence on the basics, and the need for mastery of the fundamentals such as riding forward, on the aids, with contact, and in classical position. Morris is looking forward to imparting his wisdom on the current and future generations of the sport in the city of Scottsdale.

Auditors are welcome to watch the clinic one or all three days and those interested can access more information and fill out registration forms on the Smoke Tree Ranch website. Lunch is included in the auditor fee.

Riders and auditors will also have a chance to purchase and get their copy of Morris’ autobiography, Unrelenting: The Real Story: Horses, Bright Lights and My Pursuit of Excellence, signed by the renowned rider and instructor himself.

After his stop in Arizona, Morris will venture to Omaha, Nebraska, on April 14, where he will host another clinic at The International Omaha.

For those who would like to audit, please email organizer Betty Beran at smoketreeranchberan@gmail.com or visit the website to pre-register.
