Wellington, Fla. – Nov. 16, 2018 – Show jumping fans will be able to enjoy a full evening of thrilling sport on Saturday as Horse & Country TV (H&C TV) will air both the $205,000 Longines FEI Jumping World Cup™ Toronto CSI4*-W and the Longines Global Champions Tour (LGCT) Grand Prix of Doha CSI5* back-to-back on Saturday, Nov. 17, starting at 7 p.m. EST.
Last to go in the jump-off, which featured five fast combinations, the United States’ McLain Ward used his prime position to his full advantage, snatching victory from American teammate Devin Ryan in a fast time of 32.42 seconds with HH Gigi’s Girl in the $205,000 Longines FEI Jumping World Cup™ Toronto CSI4*-W.
Ward’s win at the Royal Horse Show moved him into third place in the East Coast sub-league standings of the Longines FEI Jumping World Cup™ North American League with two more qualifiers left ahead of the final in Gothenburg, Sweden, April 3–7, 2019.

Kicking off at 8 p.m. EST on Saturday will be the epic finale of the LGCT in Doha, Qatar, where Great Britain’s Ben Maher proved to be unstoppable once again with his talented young stallion, Explosion W.
The pair not only won the LGCT Grand Prix of Doha CSI5* for the overall championship title but also helped propel the London Knights to victory as the anchor combination in the Global Champions League (GCL) team championship on the same day.
“I can’t quite take it in to be honest,” said Maher. “I have such a good bond with Explosion W. You believe you can do anything riding a horse like him. He’s just such a fun horse to be around and he enjoys his work.”
Maher’s fourth LGCT grand prix win of the season in Doha put him 43 points ahead of 2017 champion, Harrie Smolders. The current world No. 1 had to settle for second place behind Maher, who he described as “out of our league.”
Maher will undoubtedly be the one to watch at the new GC Playoffs in Prague, Czech Republic, in December, where he will compete in the inaugural LGCT Super Grand Prix and the GCL Super Cup.
