Wellington, Fla. – May 30, 2017 – Horses Healing Hearts (HHH) would like to extend a heartfelt ‘Thank You’ to all the donors that supported their organization during the 2017 Great Give. Participating for the first time in the Fourth Annual Great Give, Horses Healing Hearts raised $1,735.00 in just 24 hours. All proceeds donated to HHH will go directly to help the participants of the 501(c)3 who supports children whose parents struggle with substance abuse disorder.
Open from midnight to midnight on May 17th, the Great Give was a unique giving event whose sole purpose is to raise as much money as possible to benefit 415 local nonprofits in Palm Beach and Martin County. The Great Give is made possible through the partnership of four like-minded organizations: United Way of Palm Beach County and Martin County, Achieve, and Nonprofits First. Their collective mission through this fourth annual effort was to help build a vibrant community in Palm Beach County. The event invited the public to take an active role in empowering their community by raising funds for nonprofit organizations in need.
Participating nonprofits, like HHH, had to opportunity to win cash and other prizes hourly and every local monetary gift received during the event was multiplied with bonus pool dollars raised by United Way of Palm Beach County. During the day on May 17, the Great Give took over City Place in the heart of West Palm Beach, complete with family activities and live music to celebrate the power and spirit of giving back to our community.
Horses Healing Hearts, was thrilled with the outpouring of support and donations received during their first year of participation in the unique event. The generous gifts will greatly impact the children of the program that is planning to expand with a second facility in Jupiter, Fla during the summer. This second facility will allow more children in Palm Beach county access to their peer counseling services.
Horses Healing Hearts is a one-of-a-kind prevention education program helping children who have been affected by a family member with addiction. At HHH, children build self-esteem and confidence by working with horses. HHH is the only program of its kind, giving children tools to change their lives and break the generational cycle of addiction in a safe and nurturing environment.
