Kaitlin Campbell Cruises to $25,000 Equ Lifestyle Boutique 1.40m Speed Classic Win
Temecula, Calif. – Apr. 28, 2022 – Temecula Valley National Premier II continued Thursday with the exciting feature class of the day, the $25,000 Equ Lifestyle Boutique 1.40m Speed Classic. With 71 entries coming forth to contest the track built by Germany’s Olaf Petersen, Jr., the stakes were high with significant prize money and bragging rights on the line. Athletes took to the single-round class and attempted to navigate the course fault-free and as quickly as possible to take home the top prize. The winners, following 71 rounds, were Kaitlin Campbell and Mecho Van’t Kiezelhof, topping 17 clear rounds.
Philip Cillis and Barnette Best 3’3” Young Hunter 7 & Under Division
Hunter action at Temecula Valley National Premier II continued with a spotlight on young hunters in Hunter 1. Beginning with the 2’9” Young Hunter 5 & Under and completing the day with the 3’3” Young Hunter 7 & Under, promising hunter prospects were awarded championship honors as the judges made their selections and awarded each ride for their efforts and abilities.
Karrie Rufer and Georgie D’Auvray EC Kick Off Temecula Valley National Premier II with $10,000 1.35m CWD Welcome Stake Win
Competition resumed Wednesday at Galway Downs for Temecula Valley National Premier II, the second of five weeks of competition this spring hosted by Nilforushan Equisport Events. The feature class of the day, held in the Grand Prix Arena, was the $10,000 1.35m CWD Welcome Stake, welcoming 35 competitors. Over a track set by Germany’s Olaf Petersen, Jr., the elite horse-and-rider combinations navigated a tricky first round and attempted to leave all rails intact to advance to the tiebreaking jump-off. After all pairs had gone, it was Karrie Rufer and Georgie D’Auvray, owned by Morning Star Sporthorses LLC, in the winner’s circle.
