Katie Laurie & Cera Caruso Nab Another Win in $36,600 Speed Classic CSI2*
Traverse City, Mich. – June 18, 2021 – The second week of the Traverse City Spring Horse Show (TCS), presented by Turtle Creek Casino & Hotel, continued Friday, June 18 at Flintfields Horse Park. A total of 41 internationally decorated athletes took to the Turtle Creek Casino & Hotel International Ring for a race against the clock Friday afternoon to vie for the blue in the $36,600 Speed Classic CSI2*. In the end, it was Australia’s Katie Laurie and Cera Caruso who could not be caught, ultimately claiming yet another speed at Traverse City Horse Shows to earn the lion’s share of the prize money.
Victoria Colvin Captures Staller Shows Performance Hunter Champion and Reserve Champion Title
Competition in the Polk Family Hunter Ring continued Friday morning, finishing out the Staller Shows Performance Hunter Combined division. Victoria Colvin and her longtime mount, Aristocrat, dominated the division, winning the over fences class and taking top honors on the flat, helping them secure the championship title. The windy, cool weather proved to be a challenge for many, but the 13-year-old gelding stepped up to the plate and made a splash, impressing the judges with his incredible scope and eager expression.Colvin also piloted Dynamo to a first and second place finish, which ultimately secured the pair the reserve champion title.
