Middleburg, Va. – March 5, 2021 – Renowned championship hunter rider and trainer, Louise Serio, is set to host a clinic Saturday, May 15, as a part of the Rutledge Farm Sessions clinic series. Serio owns and runs Derbydown out of Chester County, Pennsylvania, a training operation that is nationally recognized as one of the leading hunter barns. Taking place at the picturesque Rutledge Farm in Middleburg, Virginia, Saturday will kick-off the facility’s 2021 clinic series. In addition to Serio’s countless years of success as a competitive hunter rider, including winning the $100,000 WCHR Peter Wetherill Palm Beach Hunter Spectacular in Wellington, Serio has dedicated much of her career to giving back. She has served on the board of directors for the USHJA, USEF and American Hunter Jumper Foundation, and is a USHJA certified trainer. Serio co-founded the World Championship Hunter Rider (WCHR) in 1992, a program dedicated to celebrating and supporting junior, amateur and professional hunter riders across the country. Since the program’s inception, she has won the WCHR Professional Rider Championship twice.

“It has always been important for me to give back to the industry that has done so much for my family, and that is why I love teaching,” Serio explained. “The great thing about this sport is that there is always something you can learn, so I hope riders come into the clinic with an open mind and are ready to have fun! Middleburg has such a wonderful horse community and I am excited to have the opportunity to teach a clinic at the historic Rutledge Farm.”

Serio’s clinic will offer spots for riders of all levels, featuring groups at the 2’6”, 3′ and 3’3”+ height. Riding spots are limited and are available on a first-come, first-served basis, so be sure to claim your spot now! In order to maintain proper social distancing protocol, auditor tickets will not be available for Serio’s clinic.

Aleco Bravo-Greenberg, owner of Rutledge Farm, said, “We are really excited to be able to offer this clinic tailored specifically to show hunters. After a challenging 2020, I am proud to continue bringing unique educational opportunities like this to the Middleburg area. I look forward to welcoming Louise Serio to Rutledge Farm and I know our participants will learn a lot from her!”

Rutledge Farm is proud to bring on-demand access to all of the Rutledge Farm Sessions thanks to USEF Network. Using the code ‘Rutledge21’, all 2018-2020 clinics can be accessed from the comfort of your home for free within one week of Serio’s clinic taking place!
