Dublin, Ireland – August 11, 2016 – Each year, the top horses and riders from around the world gather to compete at the Dublin Horse Show. The historic event always hosts leading athletes, but it is also an opportunity for talented young riders to showcase their skills. E2 Showjumpers, Katherine Gallagher and Michael Meller believe in supporting the efforts of those riders, and sponsored the Young Rider Divisions, as well as the M. Michael Meller Style Award for the Young Rider Division.

The competition got underway on Wednesday, July 20, when Jonathan Smyth piloted Charlton Clio to victory in the 1.35/1.40m Young Rider class. On Friday, it was Anna Carway riding AJACCIO to victory in the same class. Meanwhile Shane Dalton and Pat Prendergast’s Belfields Captain earned the top prize in the 1.25/1.30m Young Rider class.

The division continued on Saturday, and this time it was Darragh Ryan riding GBBS International’s Barsina to the top of the leaderboard. In the 1.10/1.15m Young Rider class, Jake Hunter and Elise, owned by Sandra Duffy, scored the winning honors.

The show concluded on Sunday with the final 1.10/1.15m Young Rider class, and it was Isabel Fitzpatrick riding HHS Fair Game leading the lap of honor.

The final award that was presented was the M. Michael Meller Style Award for the Young Rider Division. This year’s recipient was Michael Pender, who placed second during the first event of the week.

“Michael has a wonderful feel for his horses in the ring, and he also demonstrates excellent sportsmanship outside the ring,” noted Meller. “He is a very talented rider, and at E2 Showjumpers we believe strongly in supporting the rising stars in our sport. We look forward to seeing Michael’s career continue to progress, and we are thrilled to be a part of the Dublin Horse Show.”

E2 Show Jumpers has their own success in the show ring as Pembrook Milenia earned top placings in the International 7 & 8-Year-Old Championships. The talented 7-year-old Irish Sport Horse mare kicked off the week with a clear fourth place finish in the opening speed class. She then went on to be the fastest 4-faulter in the 7 & 8-Year-Old Finals with Irish rider Francis Connors.

“Pembrook Milenia is a young horse that we are very excited about,” said Meller. “We have really taken out time producing her and it has really paid off because she loves the sport. She has a lot of heart and she wants to win. She has the speed and the scope to be really special and we are excited about her future.”
