Mark Your Calendar Now! Brooke USA Announces Season Events

Wellington, Fl. – Feb. 3, 2017 – With the fast-moving equestrian winter season well on its way, Brooke USA is proud to present an unparalleled series of events to take place in the upcoming months. Ranging from educational lunch sessions, to highly-anticipated social get togethers with equestrian entertainment, there is an opportunity for everyone to support the global good works of Brooke, the world’s largest international equine welfare charity.

The first Brooke USA awareness-raising event of the season will take place Friday, February 3, during the Wellington Eventing Showcase Rider Course Walk presented by Brooke USA during the long-anticipated $100,000 Land Rover Wellington Eventing Showcase. Ambassador Boyd Martin, along with eventing greats William Fox-Pitt and Mark Todd, will walk the course while providing commentary of the obstacles the riders will face the following day. The course walk will begin promptly at the conclusion of dressage.

On Saturday, February 4, the Eventing Showcase will not only open with show jumping, but also feature a unique photo exhibit by Enrique Urdaneta-Alamo in the VIP and West Tents, portraying the compelling story of Nic Roldan’s Immersion Trip to Guatemala last September and the invaluable work Brooke does for working equines and the families that depend on them in Latin America. Beginning at 11:30 a.m. in the Hospitality Tent overlooking The Stadium, Brooke USA Ambassador Boyd Martin will be joined by Allison Springer to sign autographs and discuss their involvement in the equine organization. Brooke USA’s signature miniature horses will make an appearance during the Eventing Showcase on Saturday, and will be available for photographs.

February 23 will be a big day of learning and supporting the overseas efforts of Brooke, holding not one, but two exciting events. The first event will take place at 11:30 a.m. in The Wellington Club at the Palm Beach International Equestrian Center (PBIEC) for a Lunch & Learn session entitled Invisible Workers: The Crucial Role of Working Equines in Sustaining Livelihoods and Food Security. Katherine Bellissimo, Brooke USA Board Member, will provide the welcome remarks while Brooke’s Senior Welfare Adviser Kim Wells will lead the discussion on the organization’s impact working with equine welfare on whole communities, as well as share her personal experiences from traveling to Brooke’s international projects. Make sure to check back at PBIEC on Saturday, February 25, to meet photographer Enrique Urdaneta-Alamo and view the full photo exhibit “Ambassador Nic Roldan Visit Brooke’s Work in Guatemala.”

The evening of February 23, Amigos de Brooke USA, the newly established supporter group of Brooke USA, is proud to present International Night: A Celebration of Nations — an evening of dining and dancing to take place at The Grille Fashion Cuisine in Wellington. This first-time event kicks off Amigos de Brooke USA’s journey towards raising awareness among the international equestrian community with International Night, in which 20 percent of the night’s proceeds will go to Brooke’s equine welfare programs in Latin America. Come represent your nation in an international themed costume contest, enjoy an exquisite full menu of food and drinks, take part in the silent auction and raffle, and party alongside a DJ and celebrity bartenders for an unforgettable night.

The culmination of Brooke USA’s winter events leads up to the most-anticipated event of the season: Nic Roldan’s 2nd Annual Sunset Polo & White Party coming together Friday, March 24, at The Wanderers Club’s stunning poolside. The bar was set high at last year’s event, raising over $140,000 and awareness across the equestrian disciplines for the vital work of Brooke. This year, the evening will kick off with a sunset polo match leading up to the poolside White Party, featuring an Argentine-style asado, live and silent auctions, and live entertainment. Brooke USA’s winter event series, as well as their yearlong fundraising efforts, are set out to raise awareness and support for the four-legged, economic backbones of nine percent of the world’s population. We hope to see you there in support of Brooke USA and its year-long Horse Heroes campaign honoring the equines who served during World War I, as there is no better way to honor yesterday’s war horses and mules than by helping today’s hardworking equines and the people who depend on them. Brooke USA is aiming to raise $1 million in remembrance of the one million fallen war horses.
