Wellington, Fla. – Mar. 19, 2021 – M. Michael Meller, Spencer Smith and Ashland Farms are pleased to congratulate Ellen Whitaker on the purchase of Schugga Tschei, a talented 9-year-old Oldenburg mare by Stalypso and Fara IV.
Schugga Tschei was successful at the Winter Equestrian Festival (WEF) with Smith competing in the 1.30m jumpers and 1.40m jumpers during the 2021 show season before catching the eye of Whitaker and her trainer, Ireland’s Darragh Kenny.
Whitaker is a top grand prix rider and is a member of the world-famous Whitaker dynasty. She represents Great Britain in the international circuit and has numerous prestigious wins and accomplishments to her name. She has represented Great Britain in six European championships bringing home three championship medals. This, together with an impressive record of wins in grand prixs events and Nations Cups has proven what a determined and versatile rider she is.
As Whitaker’s trainer, Kenny saw the potential that Schugga Tschei possesses and believes that she has the talent to move up and compete at the highest level. Kenny is the owner and trainer for Oakland Stables. He consistently ranks in the top 10 riders in the world while representing Ireland in the international shows. He boasts an impressive resume of countless accolades in the international rings, including numerous 5* Grand Prix wins and significant runner-up positions in several world cups.
