Wellington, Fla. – Feb. 2, 2021 – Phelps Media Group (PMG), an international leader in equestrian sports marketing and public relations, is elated to announce the addition of the Moorcroft Conservation Foundation, a non-profit organization founded by well-known equestrian, Charlie Moorcroft, that introduces children and adults to important conservation issues, to its roster of clientele.
The unique foundation was established in November of 2020 with a mission of introducing children and adults to global conservation issues, inspiring them to make a difference and raise funds to support collaborative organizations. Moorcroft will use his own collection of critically endangered and protected species of animals and other related exhibits to provide an intimate and hands-on experience. The foundation will also offer field trips to other local facilities, informational videos, related literature and occasional guest speakers to further educate their visitors on local, national and global conservation issues.
“We want to bring awareness and hands-on experience to children,” said Moorcroft. “Our goal is really to bridge the gap between kids and education, and also bring funds to other organizations so that they can also provide opportunities for kids to be involved on a local, national and global level”
As one of the first equine instructors in the nation to receive certification through the USHJA Trainer Certification Program, Moorcroft has dedicated his career to shaping children and adult riders’ futures. His experience serving on numerous boards and committees, including the USHJA Foundation Board of Directors, the USEF National Hunter Committee and the USHJA Pony Hunter Task Force, have prepared him for piloting his own foundation.
Geoff Teall, a patron to the equestrian industry for over 40 years, will be joining Moorcroft in the expedition of spreading global conservation awareness through the 501(c)3 organization. As an “R”-rated licensed judge, Teall is known for his participation in the sport’s governance. Teall has an extensive background with foundation work, including serving as vice president of the U.S. Hunter Jumper Association, president of the American Hunter Jumper Foundation and as a board of director for USHJA, AHJF, the USHJA Foundation and USEF.
“I am so happy to support Charlie and the Moorcroft Conservation Foundation in their efforts to begin to educate the next generation on critical conservation and environmental issues, added Teall. “It is truly the right thing at the right time.”
Alongside Moorcroft and Teall, nationally recognized hunter-jumper trainer and rider Louise Serio joins the board of directors, in addition to Holly Caristo, who is a well-known fixture in the competitive show jumping industry. Moorcroft and Teall look forward to expanding their board of directors in the near future to include other like-minded people that are dedicated to the cause.
“We are thrilled to work with such established equestrians as they launch this unique and meaningful foundation,” said Lenore Phillips, Phelps Media Group Vice President. “The Moorcroft Conservation Foundation is clearly dedicated to providing a one-of-a-kind hands-on experience while spreading awareness of global conservation. Phelps Media Group is looking forward to elevating the awareness of this foundation and highlighting the efforts of these important horsemen.”
