Nilforushan Equisport Events Updated Statement Regarding COVID-19

Temecula, Calif. – Mar. 18, 2020 – Just like the rest of the broader equestrian community, Nilforushan Equisport Events (NEE) has been closely monitoring the COVID-19 situation as it affects the world. Although the management team kept its April competitions, the Interactive Mortgage Developmental Series and Temecula Valley National Horse Show (TVNHS) Premier Week, on the schedule for as long as possible, they have come to the sad decision that the events will unfortunately have to be canceled.

As of Monday, March 16, the county of Riverside, which encompasses Temecula, Calif. and the horse show venue, announced that no gatherings expecting more than 10 people are permitted through April 30, 2020. In order to remain in compliance with this regulation and promote responsible precautionary practices to keep everyone healthy, NEE will not be hosting any events at Galway Downs in April, but still currently plans to host TVNHS Weeks I, II and II in May.

“We are exceedingly disappointed that it has come to this, especially considering all of the people that were expecting to participate in the Developmental Series and the first WCHR week of the Temecula Valley National. Although we know this is the most responsible decision, we feel for all of the trainers, riders, vendors, braiders and all other parties that relied on our events for their livelihoods. It is our sincere hope that we can make our scheduled three weeks in May make up for the loss of our April events. Until then, we wish everyone safety and health during these trying times. On behalf of our whole team, we appreciate your understanding of this tough decision,” commented Ali Nilforushan, founder of Nilforushan Equisport Events.

All exhibitors who had submitted deposits for the April competitions will receive full refunds. As of this statement, the final three weeks of TVNHS are still planned to move forward, taking place May 13 – 17 (WCHR), May 20 – 24 and May 27 – 31 at Galway Downs. These events will continue to feature the same outstanding competition and hospitality available to equestrian exhibitors and the team at Nilforushan Equisport Events hopeful these shows will be a kick off to a healthy and productive summer show season.
