Phelps Media Group, Inc. and National Equestrian League Join Forces to Revolutionize North American Show Jumping

Wellington, Fla. – June 11, 2019 – International equestrian public relations and marketing firm, Phelps Media Group, Inc., is pleased to announce the addition of the National Equestrian League (NEL) to its collection of high-profile equestrian clients. A collaborative venture between European-based company JumpingClash and Morrissey Management Group (MMG), one of the premier equestrian event management companies in the United States, the NEL will bring an exciting new competition format to the sport of show jumping in North America.

“We are very honored that the NEL has chosen Phelps Media Group for their branding and marketing needs,” said Mason Phelps, Jr., founder and president of Phelps Media Group. “This is an exciting new concept that will revolutionize the sport of show jumping in the United States. The team at NEL brings together top executives in the sport from around the world to create a new and innovative concept that will appeal to a very large audience.”

Founded by Daniel Entrecanales and Pablo Márquez, the organizers of Madrid Horse Week, the NEL aims to reinvigorate the sport of show jumping by following an invitational franchise model with teams facing off in head-to-head competition. The new bracket, elimination style format is designed to thrill, while at the same time being easy to follow and understand for audiences.
“As equestrians ourselves, we wanted to re-energize the sport and share our passion with more people,” said co-founder Márquez. “Now that we have FEI approval, we are excited to partner with MMG to bring our ideas to fruition. MMG has an impressive resume of producing some of the top show jumping events in the U.S. More importantly, however, they share our commitment and vision for the future of our sport, and we look forward to working together to build something very special.”
The NEL will have superior competition, content and event production values, thereby delivering attractive opportunities for stakeholders of the sport. Created with live and TV broadcast audiences in mind, the NEL seeks to contribute to the expansion of the show jumping discipline in North America by promoting iconic athletes and improving the media broadcasting and digital multi-platform engagement of the sport. New technologies will be applied, which will turn the competition into a real sports spectacle, with great international coverage.
“We are excited for the opportunity to be a part of the NEL,” said Michael Morrissey of MMG. “We believe the NEL will have a positive and lasting impact on show jumping in North America. It is going to help elevate the level of our events and provide new opportunities to put our sport and athletes in the spotlight. The potential is enormous.”
In addition, the NEL invites you to explore their newly launched website, which will serve as the primary location to find important information regarding the upcoming NEL, offering materials and resources for exhibitors, spectators, sponsors and so much more! With pages updated regularly, be sure to continue to check the NEL website for all of the latest news and information regarding this highly anticipated circuit, scheduled to launch in 2021.
