Prize Lists for 2021 Kentucky Spring Horse Show and Kentucky Spring Classic Now Available

Lexington, KY – March 2, 2021 – Kentucky Spring Horse Shows’ management company, Kentucky Horse Shows LLC, is excited to announce that their two spring hunter/jumper competitions will be returning to the stunning Kentucky Horse Park in Lexington, Kentucky, from May 11-23, 2021. The FEI CSI3* show jumping events will feature both international and national competition for horses and riders of all levels at the magnificent venue which is nestled in the heart of horse country.

The first week of competition, the Kentucky Spring Horse Show, will kick off starting on May 11-16 and will feature a FEI CSI3* rating. Highlights include the $37,000 Welcome Speed on Wednesday, followed by the $37,000 Spring Classic on Thursday, with the week’s feature class being the $137,000 Hagyard Lexington Grand Prix on Saturday. All three FEI classes will count for the Longines Ranking List and the Thursday and Saturday classes will also count for the Rolex/USEF Show Jumping Ranking List. In addition, the featured national classes will be the $35,000 Commonwealth Grand Prix on Sunday, which will also count towards the Rolex/USEF Show Jumping Ranking List, and the $15,000 Under 25 Grand Prix to be held on Sunday, May 16.

The Kentucky Spring Horse Show will also be a World Champion Hunter Rider (WCHR) member event, where riders can earn points towards year-end awards. Hunters will take center stage on Sunday in the Stonelea Ring with the $10,000 USHJA International Hunter Derby and the $5,000 USHJA National Hunter Derby.

Competition will continue the next week with the Kentucky Spring Classic, which will take place from May 18-23, also with a FEI CSI3* rating. The $37,000 Welcome Speed will be held on Wednesday, followed by the $37,000 Spring Classic on Thursday. On Saturday, May 22, riders will battle it out for top honors in the Rolex Stadium during the $137,000 Mary Rena Murphy Grand Prix, presented by Hagyard Equine Medical Institute. Once again, all three FEI classes will count for the Longines Ranking List and the Thursday and Saturday classes will also count for the Rolex/USEF Show Jumping Ranking List. The featured national classes are the $35,000 Bluegrass Grand Prix on Sunday in the Rolex Stadium, which counts towards the Rolex/USEF Show Jumping Ranking List and the $15,000 Under 25 Grand Prix to be held on Sunday, May 23.

Parking: Horse show exhibitors may purchase a weekly parking pass at the main horse park entrance for $15. Dogs are permitted at the Kentucky Horse Park on a leash.

Directions: The Kentucky Horse Park is located eight miles Northeast of Lexington, Kentucky, at Exit 120 on Interstate 75.

Campground reservations: Reservations may not be made through the horse show office. To reserve a campsite at the Kentucky Horse Park for any of the horse shows, please call the Campground Store at 800-370-6416 or 859-259-4157, or e-mail Ryan McGaughey at ryan.mcgaughey@ky.gov. Be specific as to the show name and the dates you wish to stay. Check-in time is 2 p.m. and checkout is noon. You must make arrangements with the Campground Store if you plan to arrive earlier than 2 p.m. or stay later than noon. Vehicles that are not removed from a campsite by checkout time will be towed.
