Lexington, Ky. — July 26, 2018 — The National Horse Show Association is pleased to announce that Rood & Riddle Equine Hospital will return as the Official Veterinarians and Veterinary Pharmacy of the 2018 National Horse Show, for an unprecedented eighth year. The much-anticipated event will feature hunter, jumper, and equitation competition at the Kentucky Horse Park from October 27-November 4, 2018.
Based in Lexington, the heart of Kentucky horse country, Rood & Riddle is a full-service equine hospital established in 1986 as a referral center for horses requiring specialized medical and surgical care. Today, Rood & Riddle is known and respected throughout the world for its innovative and highly skilled treatment of horses and has expanded operations to include historic racing center, Saratoga Springs, NY and the winter horse capital of the world, Wellington, Florida.
Rood & Riddle offers extensive hospital services including surgery, internal medicine, advanced diagnostic imaging, a focused Podiatry Center and a specialized Reproductive Center. Off-site services include ambulatory care for breeding farms, sport horse facilities, horse shows and events. Rood & Riddle offers some of the most extensive off-site care available with services including emergency and preventative care, general reproduction, lameness, radiography, podiatry, and internal medicine.
Rood & Riddle Veterinarians will be on hand daily at the National Horse Show to help competitors in the event of an emergency or with routine veterinary care.

Founded in 1833, the National Horse Show is the culmination of the summer equestrian season. With $845,000 in prize money offered, the National Horse Show has been designated a CSI4*-W event by the FEI. This year, the National Horse Show will offer new Equitation Championships, including the Hamel Foundation NHS 3’3” Eq. Championship, the Taylor Harris Insurance Services NHS 3′ Adult Eq. Championships, the Boggs Hill NHS KHJA Eq. Championships, and a day of age group equitation classes. In addition, the National Horse Show is excited to announce the new National Horse Show $50,000 Hunter Classic, joining a prestigious line up of classes including the ASPCA Maclay Finals presented by Chansonette Farm, the Hollow Brook Wealth Management SJHOF Series Championship, and the world-renown $250,000 Longines FEI World Cup™ Jumping Lexington.
