That’s A Wrap! Traverse City Horse Shows Looks Back on 11 Weeks of Equestrian Memories

Traverse City, Mich. – Sept. 21, 2020 – What a season! The team at Traverse City Horse Shows (TCHS) would like to thank all of its participants, devoted supporters and hardworking staff for helping to make its 11 weeks of competition one to remember. Between spring, summer and fall dates, Flintfields Horse Park hosted more than 3,300 horses ranging from beginner ponies to Olympic equine athletes, and each rider added something to the show. Looking back on 11 weeks of Traverse City horse shows, there are too many memories with old and new friends to count, and the team behind the events hopes that all of its visitors enjoyed their time, however long or short, in beautiful Traverse City.

TCHS thanks all of its sponsors and supporters who made this Traverse City Horse Shows season possible! None of the festivities, thrilling sport or memories would have happened without loyal individuals, farms, companies and brands who shared the ideal of a world-class horse show experience and committed to doing their part to make it happen. Whether it was sponsoring a class, arena, fence or anything in between, benefactors of the 11-week series made the horse show dream a reality for our exhibitors, who in turn were the driving forces behind a successful and enjoyable spring, summer and fall.

The season led with two weeks of the Traverse City Spring Horse Show, where exhibitors were the first to see the new VIP club location and area upgrades. Six weeks of the Great Lakes Equestrian Festival followed, after which the Adequan®/USEF Junior Hunter National Championship – East Coast brought junior riders to the limelight. The Traverse City Fall Horse Show and the Silver Oak Jumper Tournament followed, and finally the iconic American Gold Cup wrapped up an electrifying year of equestrian action.

During its milestone 50th anniversary, the American Gold Cup featured two back-to-back weeks of FEI-rated show jumping and the addition of hunter competition, both firsts in the history of the event. The show also made its debut in Traverse City, and the team at TCHS is proud to have joined the ranks of venues to have hosted this storied and prestigious competition. It was an anniversary to remember!

Once again, TCHS thanks all participants, and congratulates all of its exhibitors from near and far! The entire team looks forward to welcoming familiar and new faces to Traverse City next year.

See you in 2021!
