Wellington, Fla. – August 11, 2016 – The Wellington National Golf and Equestrian Country Club is proud to welcome Julie Pickens to its all-star team of experts. Pickens joins Wellington National as the new Membership Director, and brings her talent and years of business experience with her.
Pickens hails from the International Polo Club, Breakers Palm Beach and Morton’s Steak House, where she ran food and beverage operations, as well as membership. Her goal as the new Membership Director is to carry over the skills she gained at her previous prestigious locations to really interact and connect with club members.
“I think what I’m known for in the industry is my care of people and making sure they are happy,” Pickens explained. “I think personalized service is the goal that I have as a membership director as people may have uncertainties but my goal is to open the club with a bang. People will feel like they made the right decision because you have the right staff taking care of them.”
Pickens is a mother of two, with her 21- year-old daughter at Georgia Southern University and her 19-year-old son at Palm Beach State College. Pickens’ husband is also involved in the hospitality business, and her family values often carry over into her daily work life. Wellington National will have a weekly schedule for child friendly activities, while the adults can enjoy the golf course or wine bar.
“I think my biggest strength is being with people and I take pride in making people happy, and that’s what the hospitality industry is all about,” Pickens continued. “Whether you’re coming in for golf or you’re coming in for a yoga class, lunch or a family dinner, wherever you go and whatever you do, the philosophy here will be that everyone is treated very warm as your home away from home.”
The Wellington National recently purchased Binks Forest Golf Club located in western Palm Beach County at 400 Binks Forest Drive, Wellington, Florida. The private world-class facility will feature an 18-hold championship-caliber golf course, as well as impressive renovations to the clubhouse, ballroom, pool and bistro.
