Wyndmont Heads to HITS Coachella for the 2018 Winter Show Circuit

Thermal, Calif. – Dec. 21, 2017 – After a successful cross-country summer for the Wyndmont team, trainers Ronnie Beard and Michael Dorman along with rider Shawn Casady will be heading to the HITS Desert Horse Park for the duration of the winter circuit.

The decision to head to the west coast for the winter comes after a long and successful summer and fall show circuit all along the east coast including reputable horse shows such as HITS-on-the-Hudson and the Tryon Fall Series. The team will be bringing along its best selection of horses both new and veteran that have consistently had top placings throughout the year. Casady and Valinski S took the top placing in the $50,000 Horseware Ireland Grand Prix at HITS Saugerties and only two weeks later took another victory in the $50,000 Equo Grand Prix also in New York.

“We have been based at WEF for over 11 years and it has been a tremendous opportunity, but after more than a decade, it is time for a change. Tom Struzzari has been very welcoming and supportive, and we are excited to be a part of HITS Coachella”, commented Ronnie Beard. ” Earlier this year we attended the 4* event and took notice of the significant upgrades to the park. The level of competition there continues to improve and we are looking forward to bringing a great mix of veteran grand prix horses and developing young horses that will all have a chance at great prize money, as well as working with new clients this year.”

The HITS series had its beginnings in north Florida but has since expanded to Arizona, New York, Virginia, Illinois and, of course, California. The series is home to three of the richest grand prixs in the world. The HITS Coachella Desert Circuit features eight weeks of USEF rated hunter and jumper competition and includes nearly $3 million dollars in prize money. Running from January 16th through March 18th highlights include two USHJA International Derbies, the Longines FEI World Cup Jumping Thermal, and the AIG $1 Million Grand Prix.

Wyndmont’s string of talented horses include grand prix veterans Valinski S and Zephyr, as well as up-and-coming grand prix talent Cas. They also have a group of young horses that have been very consistent throughout the summer and fall and include Favoriet U, Cecotto De La Ogi, Amai du Bourgeonet, Playboy Blue VH Z, and Evelien, as well as the talented green hunter Mission Point.

Wyndmont, Inc. offers superior training for professional and amateur athletes and consistently produces top quality jumper and hunter horses. Throughout the year, Beard and Dorman frequently travel with their talented string of horses and clients to compete at many of the nations’ most prestigious horse shows. The pair is passionate about helping their students and horses succeed at the top level of competition and are always open to helping riders find the horse which is best suited to help them meet their unique goals.
