Devon, Pa. – August 24, 2016 – The Devon Fall Classic, rapidly becoming one of the popular stops during the Northeast and Midwest fall tours, is set to get underway on September 15 and will run through Sunday, September 18, 2016 at the famed Devon Horse Show Grounds.
Returning for its fifth year, the Devon Fall Classic benefits the Devon Horse Show and Country Fair Foundation, a tax-exempt nonprofit organization that maintains the historic Devon show grounds.
The Fall Classic begins each day at 8 a.m. with the equestrian competitions. In between the jumpers and the equestrian excitement, the Devon Fall Festival will provide a taste of autumn in Pennsylvania, featuring a selection of boutique shops, carnival games, and kid-friendly food, which opens every day at 10 a.m.
Highlighting this year’s event are the Friday and Saturday evening sessions. Friday’s main event will be the Open Jumper Speed Stake. On Saturday night, the $25,000 Devon Fall Classic Grand Prix takes center stage, preceded by the Show Jumping Hall of Fame Classic for the top Junior and Amateur Owner Jumper riders.
The daytime events provide a wide variety of jumper classes, ranging from the age group jumpers, including 5, 6 and 7-year-old sections, to the Junior/Amateur-Owner Jumpers and the Child/Adult Jumpers. Pony Jumpers are also scheduled on the weekend.

In addition to the fine equestrian showcase, the Devon Fall Festival is loaded with family entertainment. At 5 p.m. on Friday and Saturday just in time for happy hour, several entertaining live bands will perform in the beer garden, located at the Picnic Grove.
Even the dogs have a special event on Saturday. The “What A Good Dog Contest,” begins at 11:30am with registration beginning at 10:30am at the What a Good Dog booth (booth #24) in the picnic area.
Sunday is “Locals Day” featuring many locally owned businesses in the picnic grove. Stop by and see some amazing products such as Lords Leather Care, a family owned leather restoration company that can bring saddles and other leather goods back to life. Their story is almost as amazing as the results of their product!
When the show concludes on Sunday, it’s time to shop for some amazing bargains on plants, shrubbery and flowers. All plants used to decorate the ring and show grounds are sold at incredible prices and supplied by one of the best known nurseries in the area, Main Line Gardens.
The Main Line is a beautiful place to travel to in September. We hope you’ll pay a visit to one of America’s newest horse shows, held at one of the oldest and most historic show grounds in the world.
