Week 7 of the Winter Equestrian Festival (WEF), sponsored by Lugano, was packed with thrilling competition and standout performances. Ashlee Bond (ISR) executed her plan to have Donatello 141 peak at just the right time, claiming victory in the $116,100 Adequan® CSI5* WEF Challenge Cup Round 7 on Thursday.
In the hunter ring, Wailea, owned by Ohana Equine LLC, maintained her perfect record with Jennifer Bliss in the irons, claiming victory in the $10,000 USHJA National Hunter Derby Open Section, presented by NetJets. In the Junior/Amateur Section, Brendan Weiss and Jaguar delivered an impressive performance to take the top spot.
Kent Farrington (USA) remains unstoppable in the CSI5* competition, continuing his winning streak at Wellington International. On Saturday night, he secured back-to-back five-star Grand Prix victories, claiming the $500,000 Lugano CSI5* Grand Prix aboard Greya under the lights. Meanwhile, on Sunday, he wrapped up the weekend with another triumph, winning the $62,500 Hermès CSI5* 1.50m Classic aboard Grass de Mars. Great Britain’s Grace Debney delivered a standout performance, topping the $62,500 Buckeye Nutrition CSI2* Grand Prix with Esprit H.S.
