“Horses are magic and such a huge part of our lives,” said Paige Johnson, one of the Foundation’s EQUUStars. “I am so proud to be among the equestrian community at the EQUUS Foundation event on February 25th who turned out to show we care about what happens to our horses and that all of America’s horses should live in comfort, and with purpose and dignity.”
The evening began with a heartfelt video that featured some of the charity’s biggest supporters and their four-legged friends. Attendees watched as Arianna Rockefeller, Brianne Goutal-Marteau, Georgina Bloomberg, Hayley Barnhill, Jennifer Gates, Jessica Springsteen, Paige Johnson and others posed with their horses and spoke about the importance of the EQUUS Foundation mission.
Guests enjoyed cocktails, auction and dinner ringside during the featured $380,000 Grand Prix CSI 5*. A highlight of the evening was the opportunity for guests to meet and greet the “star behind the bar”, Prince Lorenzo Borghese, the celebrity bartender. The entrepreneur, television personality and member of the illustrious Borghese family of Italy, has devoted much of his time to volunteering for animal rescue groups, and the EQUUS Foundation was honored to host him.
Auction items were on display for all guests to view and ranged from exquisite handbags, to vacation packages and Ariat merchandise. After enjoying delectable gourmet hors d’oeuvres and a mouthwatering dinner, guests watched an exciting jump-off round and Olympian McLain Ward take home the victory in the featured class.

“We’re all here because we love horses and we care about their welfare. Thanks to the continued support of individuals and organizations, the EQUUS Foundation has grown from a local non-profit serving a handful of charities to the primary national organization in the United States 100% dedicated to horse welfare and the horse-human bond,” said Lynn Coakley, EQUUS Foundation President.
