2019 Chicago Festival of the Horse Prize List Released

Wayne, Il. – May 28, 2019 – The Lamplight Equestrian Center‘s highly anticipated Chicago Festival of the Horse, known as the Midwest’s premier summer horse show experience, is excited to announce the release of its 2019 prize list for the iconic event. The three week long festival is set to kick-off on July 24.

Located only 30 miles outside of Chicago in the Village of Wayne, the Chicago Festival of the Horse combines convenience and quality in its hosting venue to give exihbitors a boutique horse show experience. Enjoy world-class footing in eight outdoor arenas, 55 acres of breath-taking landscape and the comforting atmosphere of the historic surrounding area that is deeply rooted in equestrian sport. The 2019 Chicago Festival of the Horse provides an experience like no other for all who wish to enjoy a summer show season in a beautiful setting surrounded by some of the best horses and athletes in the industry.
The three weeks of world-class competition will be recognized by the WIHS and NAL while the beautiful Grand Prix Arena will play host to two $50,000 Grand Prix, one $25,000 Grand Prix, two $25,000 Welcome Stakes, a $20,000 Jumper Derby and a $15,000 USHJA International Hunter Derby. In addition, there will be a $5,000 USHJA National Hunter Derby during all three weeks of competition.
The first week of competition, Equifest I, will be an Illinois Hunter and Jumper Association (IHJA) Week that will feature a crowd-pleasing $25,000 Welcome Stake on the first day, July 24. The excitment will continue through the remainder of the week with the $5,000 USHJA National Hunter Derby sponsored by CWDSaddles on Friday, July 26, and the $50,000 Grand Prix on Saturday, July 27, concluding Equifest I on Sunday, July 28.
Equifest II will continue on July 30 with lots of opportunity for thrilling competition for Illinois Hunter and Jumper Association members and World Championship Hunter Rider (WCHR) members as the Chicago Festival of the Horse presents a $15,000 International Derby. A USHJA Pony Derby, presented by Old Barrington Farm, will add to the week’s exciting classes in the Grand Hunter Arena. Another $25,000 Welcome Stake and the $50,000 Grand Prix will show in the Grand Prix Arena along with a must-see $20,000 Jumper Derby, wrapping up Equifest II on August 4.
To conclude the Chicago Festival of the horse, Equifest III will begin on August 7.
The final $5,000 Welcome Stake will take place Thursday, August 8, leading up to the $25,000 Grand Prix set for Saturday afternoon. The final week and festival will conclude on Sunday, August 11.
