Lexington, KY – July 28, 2021 – The action returned to the Rolex Stadium Wednesday afternoon for the first day of the Kentucky Summer Horse Show. Without a cloud in the sky, eager athletes and their partners took to the ring in hopes of snagging the lion’s share of prize money offered in the $5,000 1.40m Open Jumper. After a hard-fought battle, it was ultimately Ireland’s Cormac Hanley who prevailed over the stiff competition aboard Elegance de Pessel, riding home with the first win of the series.
Jimmy Torano Tops Leaderboard on First Day of Hunter Competition at Kentucky Summer Horse Show in Green Hunter Incentive Stake
The Kentucky Summer Horse Show kicked off Wednesday morning as hunter riders took center stage in the Stonelea Ring at the Kentucky Horse Park. Jimmy Torano and Laskano started their first of four weeks off with a bang, taking home top honors in the Green Hunter Incentive Stake. As the last horse and rider pair to enter the ring, Torano and the 9-year-old Westphalian gelding saved the best for last, bringing home a score of 86.00.
