Devon, Pa. – Sept. 12, 2016 – The nation’s top show jumping stars are headed back to Devon for the second time this year to attend the 2016 Devon Fall Classic. Already in its fifth year, the show is set to get underway on Sept. 15 and will run through Sunday, Sept.18, at the famed Devon showgrounds.
Competition begins in the morning and runs throughout the day, but the main events for show jumping will be featured during the Friday and Saturday evening sessions. Friday will host the area’s top professionals during the Open Jumper Speed Stake. Saturday night features the main event, the $25,000 Devon Fall Classic Grand Prix, preceded by the Show Jumping Hall of Fame Classic for the top Junior and Amateur-Owner Jumpers.
Along with top-notch show jumping, attendees will enjoy the Devon Fall Festival, a wonderful alternative and a great place to enjoy some time with family and friends.
This year’s festival will include over thirty different vendors with a huge variety of wares. From top-of-the-line clothing to something more on the casual side as well as beautiful and unique jewelry and home goods. It is already that time of the year so what better place to start your Christmas and holiday shopping than at the Devon Fall Festival?
When you arrive, come with a big appetite. The festival will feature food that will satisfy any taste bud. From scrumptious burgers and a wide variety of sandwiches to delicious and healthy salads of all kinds and, of course, ice cream. The food is guaranteed to be good because the catering is provided by Aquilante’s Catering of Paoli. As they say, “Aquilante’s has a passion for what they do, and a commitment to be the best!”
The weekend promises to be festive with live music on Friday and Saturday night. Local favorites Concrete Charlie will be on stage Friday, while Dave Saunders takes over on Saturday evening.
Even dogs have a special event on Saturday — the “What a Good Dog Contest.” Registration begins at 12:30 p.m. and the show will take place beginning at 1 p.m. in the schooling ring.
Sunday is local day, featuring all local area businesses setting up in the Devon Picnic Grove to showcase their services to those in attendance.
