Wellington, Fla. – Aug. 30, 2019 – Buying and selling a home, or even an investment property is a major life event. Especially since the legal system that surrounds real estate transactions sometimes encourages an adversarial approach, even when all parties have the same goal in mind.
With 30 years of real estate law experience, Hilda Porro’s goal is to represent her clients in a way that facilitates the sale or purchase of real estate from contract to closing. She provides representation in residential and commercial transactions, including preparing/reviewing contracts, title related documentation, and all closing documents. She also works to mitigate possible disagreements or conflicts that may arise during the process.
Hilda has been joined by Mari-Ellen Sheldon, who has worked in the real estate industry for 28 years, specializing in residential and commercial real estate transactions. Together Hilda and Mari-Ellen have seen and been involved with Wellington’s growth and changes. Both have worked closely with the equestrian community for many years and have deep roots in the community.
“I am passionate about supporting my clients, and am very invested in the success of their endeavors,” says Porro. “Addressing important legal needs, such as buying and selling a new home requires conscious focus and attention. I’ve designed my practice to address my client’s concerns so that their legal needs are addressed and they experience peace of mind.”
As this is not a typical approach for most lawyers, new clients are often pleasantly surprised by her level of commitment to her clients needs and emotions. To do this Hilda utilizes her training as a life coach to support clients in navigating the stressful times of transition.
“Having an attorney provides assurance that your specific interests are protected. That you’re not being overcharged or held responsible for something beyond your contractual obligation,” says Porro. Life coaching skills help in navigating the time of transition, for both sellers and buyers. Our homes often create a feeling of security. Moving is stressful on a deeper level than is often acknowledged.”
