Keri Potter and Quitana 11 are Quick to Win $5,000 Vita Flex 1.40m Two Phase CSI3*

Thermal, Calif. – Jan. 27. 2022 – FEI competition for the 2022 Desert International Horse Park (DIHP) show season got underway during Desert Circuit II Thursday afternoon as international athletes took to the Grand Prix Arena for the $5,000 Vita Flex 1.40m Two-Phase CSI3*. A field of 34 entries, featuring top pairings representing eight different nations, contested the course set by Mexico’s Manuel Esparza. The athletes focused primarily on keeping rails intact during the first phase of competition, switching gears at the halfway mark on course to speed through phase two and try to claim top honors. Ultimately, it was Keri Potter and Quitana 11 who held their early lead to emerge at the top of the leaderboard at the conclusion of the class.

Nick Haness and Morrison Master the Oz Inc. High Performance Hunter at Desert Circuit II

Thermal, Calif. – Jan. 27, 2022 – The Oz Inc. High Performance Hunter division took to Hunter 1 Thursday to complete the second portion of the division and vie for championship honors at the 4’ fence height. Over courses set by Ken Krome (USA), the hunter athletes let their mounts show off their impressive scope in order to impress the judges and propel them to the top. Nick Haness and Morrison, owned by the West Coast Equine Partners, LLC, ultimately claimed top honors in the division.

Rachel Fields and Daisy Lyn Race to Win $2,500 Whittier Trust 1.35m Welcome Speed 

Thermal, Calif. – Jan. 26, 2022 – Desert Circuit II kicked off on Wednesday with the $2,500 Whittier Trust 1.35m Welcome Speed in the Grand Prix Arena. A total of 22 entries came forward to contest the Manuel Esparza-designed track, set in the Table II speed format. One by one, athletes attempted to jump clear in the quickest time to take the lead and qualify for Saturday night’s $25,000 FarmVet Grand Prix. In the end, it was Rachel Fields (USA) and Lexi Burdon’s Daisy Lyn who rose to the occasion to take the top spot.
