Devon, Pa. – May 24, 2019 – Day two at the 2019 Devon Horse Show and Country Fair saw the nation’s top equitation riders return to the Dixon Oval to attempt to write their names into history. The highly regarded R.W. “Ronnie” Mutch Equitation Championship, sponsored by Dover Saddlery, was awarded to the junior athlete who accumulated the most points throughout the two days of equitation competition. This year, it was Paige Matthies of Lake Leelanau, Michigan, who earned Junior Weekend’s top equitation prize by totaling 19 points to take home the R.W. “Ronnie” Mutch Challenge Trophy.
Tanner Korotkin and Armagedon Capture Second Round of Junior Jumper Championship
Under the lights in the Dixon Oval, 17-year-old Tanner Korotkin of Wellington, Florida, and Sandalwood Farms’ Armagedon claimed round two, sponsored by Land Services USA, Inc., of the coveted Junior Jumper championship to conclude competition on Friday at the Devon Horse Show and Country Fair. The pair were the first clear pathfinders in the jump-off, ultimately crossing the finish line in an unbeatable 32.383 seconds to claim the Wigg’s Bar Challenge Trophy.
