Loxahatchee, Fla. – Sept. 14, 2016 – For equestrians, the Olympic Games are the pinnacle of the sport, bringing together the best athletes in the world. Although Ronnie Beard and Michael Dorman of Wyndmont, Inc. had not initially planned on taking a horse to the 2016 Olympic Games in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, when Valinski S showed he was ready, they jumped at the opportunity. After three days of competition over several difficult courses, the 14-year-old KWPN gelding qualified as part of the best 35 horses in the world to compete during the Individual Final.
For accomplished horsemen like Beard and Dorman of Wyndmont, Inc., having one of their top horses, Valinski S, attend the event was an incredible experience. “We are so thankful to have had the opportunity to participate in the Olympics with a horse that we found and own,” said Beard. “It was a dream come true to watch Valinski S jump so many clean rounds over some of the most difficult courses in the world.”
His passion for matching talented horses with competitive riders is what drives Beard, who continues to successfully prepare horses and coach riders to top international competitions. Beard is known throughout the equestrian industry as a respected trainer and coach who possesses the unique ability to discover horses that will be competitive in varying levels of competition. “I’m drawn to horses with a lot of class and a lot of heart,” explained Beard. “Valinski had those characteristics plus unlimited natural talent. And, it was Michael (Dorman) that really made Valinski S into the star he is today. When we purchased him, Michael did all the riding and training so, in the end, we had a properly made horse who was ready to continue winning anywhere in the world.”
Dorman takes Beards’ vision for the horses he purchases and turns it into a reality, repeatedly producing horses that are ready to win in the show ring. As a professional rider who has successfully competed nationally and internationally, Dorman is widely respected as an expert in developing young horses as well as helping to hone the talent and rideability of more seasoned competition horses.

With the 2016 Olympics behind them, Beard and Dorman returned to their home base in Loxahatchee, Florida. While Valinski S enjoys a well-deserved break from competition, Beard and Dorman are focusing on the future. “Now is the perfect time for us to get back to our core business model,” said Beard. “The Olympics were an exciting moment in time for us and now we are looking forward to continue coaching top riders and selling quality competition horses.”

Beard and Dorman are refocusing on helping to pair horses and riders together for upcoming competitions. “To me it’s not just the Olympics, it’s any of the championships, whether it’s the World Cup or World Equestrian Games. To qualify and to get there is a big deal. Now that the Olympics are behind us, I am excited to continue developing horses and riders,” said Beard.
